Dagad Phool

Dagad Phool, known as Patthar phool in Hindi, Stone flower or stag flower in English. It is a spice which basically a Dried Flower used to impart earthy fragrant flavour in various Indian dishes.

It is used in preparation of Goda Masala which is populary used in Maharashtrian dishes like Missal Pav, Ussal (Curries made from pulses) and many other Sabjis and Non-Veg foods like Matki chi Bhaaji,

Nalli Nihari and Dum biryaani. 

Dagad Phool is widely used in Chettinaad (South Indian) Dishes like Semi-Dry Meat,Chicken curries or Fish curries and also in wide range of Vegetable Dishes.

Health Tip: According Ayurved, Stone flower helps in prevention of Kidney stones, reduces inflammation, fights Bacteria and Fungus from growing in our food and is excellent for the Health of Skin if its paste is applied over affected areas.
